My Spray Tan Compressor Blew Up! :(

Gutted! Disaster! My brand new spray tan machine I got from the US has JUST blown up!!!!!! I think it’s the compressor that has blown. We heard a bit of a screech and then smelled burning rubber and saw a bit of smoke – oh no!!! 🙁 very very very sad and very upset as now I won’t be able to use it for Ashley and her bridesmaids tomorrow – sorry girls!!!

I’ve contacted the company to see what they can do and am yet to hear back – grrrrr!! Lucky we live in Phuket where the diving industry is huge and experts on compressors aren’t too few and far between – fingers crossed!!

Lovely Hayley’s Wedding at Merlin Beach

Congrats Hayley – we had such a lovely day with you and your wonderful bridesmaid Nerida today 🙂 we were so happy the rain held off for your ceremony.

Hayley had amazing long hair which I straightened and then put in rollers to set.

Nerida had beautiful long black hair which Emma curled and put up into a low up do. Nerida was wearing a beautiful canary yellow dress so I used some gold, a slight pearlescent white and soft brown tones for her make up which looked stunning.

Hayley had a gorgeous feathery head piece which we worked into her hair design of a low bun with soft rolled curls. We did some soft make up to really bring out her eyes and the colour of her dress – she looked beautiful!!

We then set and curled the little flower girl’s hair, and just about had time to fit in Hayley’s Mum’s hair and make up, who wore a fantastic electric blue dress.

Hayley had some pictures taken in the room before going down to the beach but disaster struck with Nerida’s dress as part of the zip came apart!! Lucky I was on hand with some needle and thread to sew her back into it!! Phew!!

You could see the beach set up from Hayley’s room so once we had packed up, we could just see her start to walk down the aisle 🙂 xxx

Beautiful Abby’s Wedding at Outrigger Resort

We had a beautiful wedding today at the Outrigger Resort in Laguna with the lovely Abby who is from Oz but living in London.

Abby used to be a model so was super tall and had beautiful long red hair 🙂 her dress was absolutely stunning – lace, very vintage and 1920s inspired and she had a gorgeous head piece we were going to work into her hair design.

Abby had 4 bridesmaids who all had really different hair – both colour and length so we did Emma created 4 different designs.

They were all really beautiful girls so we could do some quite bold make up to bring out the colours of their dresses which were a pretty grey-blue.

It was a really lovely girly day – the villas at Outrigger are really great and it was really nice for Abby to have all the girls around her as she got ready.

Thanks so much for being so beautiful and lovely girls – we got some gorgeous pictures and you all looked amazing 🙂

Best of luck Abby and Derron and massive congratulations 🙂 xxx

Marilyn’s Post-Wedding Party at Jivana Villas

Me and Em were lucky enough to work up at Jivana Villas on Naitai Beach at Phang Nga today. We were also working with Jeanette at Luxury Events Phuket (luxuryeventsphuket.com). We were invited to pop our heads round so had a quick chat with her as she was whizzing round making sure everything was beautiful and perfect for the 150 guests Marilyn had invited from Singapore, and all over.

DJing was Mr Jay Leshark, a pleasure seeing him also, as always 🙂

Marilyn and her husband were having a big celebration for their wedding in Thailand as more of a half way point for many people that couldn’t make their wedding in Singapore.

Em and I had Marilyn, her best friend and sister in law’s hair and make up to do. Marilyn wanted her hair half up half down, to contrast how she had it up for her wedding, and natural looking make up to complement the dress she was wearing.

Her best friend had a fabulous Karen Millen dress to wear and Emma created an up do for her in a semi pony tail with some cascading curls. Her sister in law wanted to look quite chic but still modern so Emma created a small bouffant/chignon style at the back.

As I took Marilyn’s hair out, we broke down some of the curls and pinned back enough to create a really soft but sophisticated look. Her skin was flawless so made my job very easy 🙂 natural looking make up with soft gold and brown tones and fake eyelashes really made her eyes stand out.

The party was at the villa next door to Marilyn’s and was laid out absolutely beautifully with a beach side bar, white round tables and chairs, overhead lanterns and lights illuminated the stunning setting perfectly.

Many Congrats guys 🙂 xxx

Raquel’s Spanish Veil and Wedding at Woraburi Resort

Raquel and John were travelling the world together for a year when at the beginning of their trip he asked her to marry him 🙂 so because she had family in Spain, they spent some time there and she had a fabulous veil and dress made which were just stunning!

We met Raquel and John here in Phuket on the final leg of their trip for her make up and hair trial in Karon.

We started her wedding day with a morning of pampering for her and her bridesmaids, manicures and pedicures, before starting on the hair prep and set for her, her bridesmaids, Mum and Mum in Law.

We created individual hair designs for the bridesmaids as they had hair that varied in length, colour and cut so we wanted to design styles that all worked really well for them personally.

Raquel had her hair curled and pinned into an updo. I brought out her beautiful Spanish features and skin tone with her make up and gave her Mum a smokey eye and a fantastic red lip to go with her red dress which looked beautiful on her.

She looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and the veil was just incredible!

Congratulations to you and John my lovely, we look forward to hearing from you soon 🙂 xxx

My Birthday at Sri Panwa!!

I have just had the most wonderful birthday at Sri Panwa. Me and my husband Mark booked a beautiful villa for a couple of nights, just as he got back from work 🙂

The views were absolutely breathtaking, the villa fantastic, the staff were amazing and I was very very happy 🙂

We invited just a few friends round – Gina, Tim and baby Kingston, Em, Ben and Simone and Joey. So we all had a few drinks and some food around (and in!) the pool.

The staff arranged for a lovely chocolate birthday cake which was very formal, reading; ‘Happy Birthday Lisa Allen’!! Aw. And because there was a wedding going on on the same day, there were fireworks in the evening – beautiful!

Me, Emma and Mark then went for dinner at the Baba Pool Club. They had salas and tables and chairs actually in the pool, which we immediately went to sit in, after a few glasses of wine, to have dessert! The Thai staff were on hand with towels, and thought we were a little strange but nonetheless it was something different and really fun!!xxx

Wedding Road Trip to Krabi for Jan and Michael!

Emma and I have just got back from a mini road trip to Krabi yesterday for Jan and Michael’s wedding at the Centara. It was about a 3 and a half hour drive there and then a 20 minute boat ride to the hotel – it was quite interesting getting off the boat onto a makeshift plastic pier with 3 massive bags of hair and make up stuff between us! But we made it in one piece!! Phew!

The villa they had booked was beautiful. Jan and her family were Sri Lankan and Michael’s family were from Mauritius, which was really nice as Emma’s Dad and family are also from Mauritius and it worked out that they lived quite near each other!

The colours the girls had chosen for their dresses were absolutely stunning and complemented each other so well – fuschia, lilac and a tealy green – beautiful! Jan also looked like a vision in her stunning ivory dress and veil.

It was a bit touch and go with the weather and whether it would rain but it held off for the ceremony and the reception so we were very pleased for them 🙂

[slideshow]Me and Emma stayed behind to do touch ups after the ceremony and for the beach pictures. Jan and Michael invited us back to the villa for a quick cocktail, which was very kind of them – and we couldn’t say no to after a very long day, so we stayed and chatted to everyone before getting the 8pm boat back to the mainland and driving home. We took a back way home, and because it had just been raining on the hot tarmac, the road was emitting steam and around the Thai roads with no lights it looked like ghosts coming at the windscreen which freaked Emma out a little, bless her!!

Congrats to you both and thank you for a fabulous day!! We hope London is treating you both well!! xxx

Ouch! Laser Hair Removal!!

I convinced Em to have laser hair removal – I’m having a course on my legs too. The first session is SO painful – poor Em was actually crying, bless her!

But I promised her the next 7 sessions are much better – to the point of being completely tolerable! And of course the results are great 🙂

We go to the Romrawin Clinic in Central and have Khun Ya who is really fantastic and very thorough, and also very funny laughing at us and our pain…nice!!xxx

Cecilia and Allan’s Wedding at the Laguna, Phuket

Congratulations to Ceci and Allan who got married at Laguna today!!

They had a beautiful traditional Chinese tea ceremony,上頭 in the morning, which we were lucky enough to see from afar, at one of the private Sheraton villas.

As we were getting Ceci, her sister and Mum’s hair and make up done, everyone began to arrive and we could hear friends and relatives of the Bride and Groom laughing and joking downstairs, playing games which sounded like they were a serious amount of fun!

Ceci had a gorgeous custom made traditional Chinese dress – the material was absolutely fabulous so I must remind myself to pick up something similar next time I am in Hong Kong!

After the Bride made her entrance with her Dad, who looked so proud, we sat and watched the ceremony take place. Tea is China’s national drink and it symbolises respect.

We watched Ceci serve tea to both her parents, as an act of respect and gratitude for all the years of love and care. After the drinking of the tea, Ceci and Allan were presented with gifts in red envelopes which contained money and/or jewellery – we could see Ceci receive some really beautiful gold bracelets.

Ceci and Allan, relatives and friends then proceeded to Allan’s family to perform the same ceremony, formally introducing Ceci to Allan’s family. It was such a lovely ceremony and occasion and everyone was really happy and smiling for it all!!

When Ceci returned, we got her, her sister, Mum and bridesmaid Sheila ready for a second change of hair and make up, for the wedding ceremony itself at the Chapel on the Lagoon at Laguna.

Emma and I then drove to the Phuket Pavillions to set up ready to receive the wedding party back for a third and final change of hair and make up. The villas at Phuket Pavillions were absolutely stunning and so beautiful – breathtaking views over all of the island!

Ceci looked absolutely stunning in her red dress she wore for the Cocktail Reception and Banquet, as did her Mum in a gorgeous floor length grey and silver beaded dress.

Everything was organised to perfection, thanks to the wonderful Jeanette at Luxury Events Phuket (luxuryeventsphuket.com).

Me and Emma left to drive home at about 8pm. It was a long day but so enjoyable – the Laus were such a lovely family and we were so happy to be able to be a part of their daughters’ day 🙂 xxx

Emma and Mark’s Take Us to Thailand Wedding at Twin Palms

[slideshow]

We had such a fab day with Emma and her friends and family at Twin Palms Resort in Surin. We arrived at around 11am and Em had already cracked open the champers – we were so proud!!

I had a trial with Emma a few days previously, her wedding was planned and organised to perfection by the lovely girls Anna and Natalie at Take Us to Thailand in Australia (takeustothailand.com) so after the trial, I rearranged her hair and make up so she was all glammed up for the cocktail party they threw her in the early evening.

We also did Emma’s wedding with the lovely Gina (ginasmithphotography.com) who arrived shortly after us to take some pictures of the bride getting ready, the groom Mark and the boys (who were swimming in the pool for most of the day!), her AMAZING shoes and dress, and the lovely setting at Twin Palms.

I loved Emma’s different hair style – no curls, just a French pleat with feathered out end pieces and a styled fringe to create a really soft look which went with the fabulous feathers she had incorporated in her dress.

We also gave her bridesmaid a great look – she had quite short hair so we managed to create the illusion of more hair by creating an anchor mini pony tail at the back and curling the surrounding end pieces and pinning them round to create a beautiful bun, to which we added some flowers.

Gina took some fantastic pictures with Emma at the Resort, around the pool, in the Reception and the Library before Emma came back for some quick touch ups before marrying Mark.

She really was a lovely, chilled out bride that we had such a laugh with. Thanks for being so relaxed and fun and hope London is treating you both well! xxx
