Congratulations to Ceci and Allan who got married at Laguna today!!
They had a beautiful traditional Chinese tea ceremony,上頭 in the morning, which we were lucky enough to see from afar, at one of the private Sheraton villas.
As we were getting Ceci, her sister and Mum’s hair and make up done, everyone began to arrive and we could hear friends and relatives of the Bride and Groom laughing and joking downstairs, playing games which sounded like they were a serious amount of fun!
Ceci had a gorgeous custom made traditional Chinese dress – the material was absolutely fabulous so I must remind myself to pick up something similar next time I am in Hong Kong!
After the Bride made her entrance with her Dad, who looked so proud, we sat and watched the ceremony take place. Tea is China’s national drink and it symbolises respect.
We watched Ceci serve tea to both her parents, as an act of respect and gratitude for all the years of love and care. After the drinking of the tea, Ceci and Allan were presented with gifts in red envelopes which contained money and/or jewellery – we could see Ceci receive some really beautiful gold bracelets.
Ceci and Allan, relatives and friends then proceeded to Allan’s family to perform the same ceremony, formally introducing Ceci to Allan’s family. It was such a lovely ceremony and occasion and everyone was really happy and smiling for it all!!
When Ceci returned, we got her, her sister, Mum and bridesmaid Sheila ready for a second change of hair and make up, for the wedding ceremony itself at the Chapel on the Lagoon at Laguna.
Emma and I then drove to the Phuket Pavillions to set up ready to receive the wedding party back for a third and final change of hair and make up. The villas at Phuket Pavillions were absolutely stunning and so beautiful – breathtaking views over all of the island!
Ceci looked absolutely stunning in her red dress she wore for the Cocktail Reception and Banquet, as did her Mum in a gorgeous floor length grey and silver beaded dress.
Everything was organised to perfection, thanks to the wonderful Jeanette at Luxury Events Phuket (luxuryeventsphuket.com).
Me and Emma left to drive home at about 8pm. It was a long day but so enjoyable – the Laus were such a lovely family and we were so happy to be able to be a part of their daughters’ day 🙂 xxx
