Atsumi Photo Shoot with Danielle!!

For the second of two jobs in a day, Gina (ginasmithphotography.com) and I had a photo shoot today with the lovely Danielle who has been staying at Atsumi (atsumihealing.com) for a 9-day detox. I did a detox at Atsumi last year and am hoping to do one again at the end of July this year.

They are all really fantastic down there and offer a great experience. Me and Gina have also done a photo shoot with Anna, who owns the Retreat.

As part of the package, guests can opt to do a photo shoot with myself and Gina, revealing their ‘new self’. I pop down to Atsumi to do hair, make up and styling and Gina takes shots around the Retreat, but on this occasion we took Danielle down to Naiharn beach and the Royal Phuket Yacht Club.

Danielle had come over from Singapore, where she has just moved to, but had been living in Japan, and admitted partying too much, so wanted to detox!!

Danielle used to work as a commercial model and Gina got some really amazing shots of her – I did very striking, bright eye make up for her – turquoise and yellow tones, which sounds quite extreme but I wanted to do something different for her so it would really stand out in pictures and complement the really vibrant outfits she had picked out.

Djana’s Buddhist Monk Wedding

Lovely Bride Djana had a Traditional Buddhist Wedding Ceremony today very early in the morning!!

I left at about 5.30am and counted at least 17 monks on the way to her house 🙂

She wanted quite natural hair and make up which really complemented the dress she was wearing. Her and her husband-to-be were really lovely and I grabbed a few pics of them before they went off.

It was a really chilled out session at that time in the morning. I drove home, did a few emails then went to meet Gina for our photo shoot in the afternoon.

Stormy’s Year 11 Prom!!

Aw I did Storm’s hair and make up today for her School Prom 🙂 Storm’s the daughter of a really good friend of Gina’s.

She had really tight black curly hair which she wanted straightened so I blow dried and then used my trusty GHDs to straighten her hair, which took nearly 2 hours! But she looked absolutely stunning and had no idea how long her hair really was!

She was such a pretty girl and had a gorgeous Armani dress to wear – we did some really natural, pretty eye make up – peach and pink pale tones and a fab lip gloss for her.

Gina was also there to take some pics of her before she went off with her friends to Prom – Thanks Gina!! 🙂 xxx

Larenda’s Wedding at Baan Yin Dee Patong

Larenda and I first started to communicate for her fantastic wedding back in May.

Finally the day arrived and I headed off to the Baan Yin Dee Resort in Patong, located on the Southern Hillside with a spectacular view over Patong and beyond. When I arrived I was greeted by Larenda and her family, which were such a friendly bunch. We settled into her “Presidential Suite” room which was just fab, loads of space and light (which is great for me for make up!). I was just taking care of her mum and Larenda today. Larenda’s mum had great skin awith shoulder lenghth hair which we decided would suit her best to be up (due to the heat and hummidty). After creating Larenda’s mum’s look, I started designing and creating for Larenda. Larenda wanted a natural bridal look for her make up and for her hair I created a tidy side bun which was complimented by a Pink & White Lilly. She just looked amazing.

Larenda, once again thanks for an amazing day and nice to meet your

Antonette’s Wedding at Sri Panwa

We had a fab wedding today at the stunning Sri Panwa (sripanwa.com) for the lovely Antonette who had the even lovelier girls, Anna and Natalie at Take Us To Thailand (takeustothailand.com) plan, co-ordinate and generally perfect her wedding day.

She wanted quite a simple up do – quite soft at the front with some curls lightly placed at the back, leaving enough room for her veil and beautiful hair pieces, which looked really stunning.

We wanted to keep the make up simple as well, bringing out her eyes with smokey eye make up and natural blusher and lips.

Em took care of the bridesmaids’ and Mum’s hair- the bridesmaids had gorgeous dark shimmery grey dresses and stunning high shoes.

The setting at Sri Panwa really is beautiful

Bundarika Wedding Shoot

Gina and I (ginasmithphotography.com) had a promotional photo shoot today for Bundarika Resort (bundarika.com) which is situated in the northwest of Phuket, on a beautiful and remote bay called Layan Beach.

It was such a quiet and beautiful  part of the island, really intimate and romantic – perfect for a wedding photo shoot!

We had Emma and Dong modelling for us as bride and groom and did three shots – a Thai style wedding, a Western wedding in the chapel up on a hill over looking the bay, and a Western wedding on the beach – it was such a gorgeous setting for everything 🙂

We hired Traditional Thai style wedding attire, jewellery and accessories from Sukko Spa (sukkospa.com) which were absolutely breathtaking! Emma was like a kid in a candy store trying on all the dresses!

I created Emma’s hair design and did her make up here at home before we left – she has quite short hair so I created a hair piece for her similar to that worn by Sarah Jessica Parker at the 2010 Oscars.

It looked fantastic and like she’d grown about a foot of hair overnight!

For her make up, I did a really natural golden brown make up to try and tie in the different dresses for the day, and just simple blusher and lip gloss.

The staff at Bundarika were really accommodating and arranged a villa for us to set up in and make the changes.

Super star Gina took some stunning pictures as always – I’ve just uploaded a simple few here…xxx

Sex and the City 2 has come to Phuket!!

[slideshow]

Me and Em (and many other Expat women in Phuket!) are SO happy the girls and Sex and the City 2 have finally come to Phuket!! Yippeeeeee!!!

We went to go and see the film twice in the week it was here at the SFX cinema in Central Festival. We thought we’d treat ourselves to 600 THB First Class seats – lazy boy chairs, popcorn, few beers and general nibbleys – BLISS!!

The film is absolutely AMAZING.

I instantly fell in love with the clothes and shoes, and the hair and make up, which were all flawless and just absolutely to die for!! Patricia Field is my hero!!!

I’m definitely going to buy the book on the movie which tells you all about the designers they used and the clothes themselves, which were worth over £7m!!

http://www.patriciafield.com/sexandthecitythemoviebook.aspx

There’s an amazing red dress a la Lady GaGa and Rihanna, which Samantha wore when the girls were singing karaoke in Abu Dhabi, by up and coming New York designers The Blonds. The dress was just so 80s and retro and I LOVED it!!

Em’s already downloaded the soundtrack and put that in the car for when we drive to and from work 🙂 xxx

Lovely Sian at Thavorn Beach Resort and Spa

Sian and her amazing PINK shoes! WOW!

Me and Em had a great day with Sian and her fab bridesmaids – Holly, Ally, Laura and Sarah.

Sian had the most stunning diamante tiara head piece which we wanted to incorporate into the design of her hair. So I created some padding to create some height and wove the tiara in. The back of Sian’s hair was a loose but fairly structured bun with some placed buns and curls.

We did sultry smokey eye make up and defined her lovely eyes before helping her get into her FAB dress which made her look just like a princess 🙂

The girls had stunning bridesmaid dresses – they were a gorgeous purple colour which contrasted amazingly with Sian’s AMAZING shoes 🙂

We were lucky enough to work with Gina (ginasmithphotography.com) again – yay! Gina took the girls out to get some shots in the beautiful gardens of the Resort, and captured everyone beautifully at the ceremony, and the reception.

Thanks for a great day guys – we had so much fun and come back and see us soon!!xxx

Ashley and the Girls (and Boys) at Katathani!

[slideshow]

We love Ashley and Mark!!

We had such a fun wedding day with these guys from Perth!! Ash had 3 beautiful bridesmaids – Sheree, Kristy and Katie who were all lovely and we had such a laugh with 🙂 [sorry for all the rollers Kristy!!]

The girls had beautiful chocolatey brown bridesmaid dresses so I used gold, bronzey tones in their eye make up, and Emma did a beautiful side bun with curls and a few pearls in the girls’ hair which went really well with the dresses 🙂

The back of Ashley’s dress was absolutely stunning so we did an up do with scrunched up curls in a roll with bits of weaving at the side and a gorgeous flower piece.

For the make up, we did a subtle gold with more matte natural brown earth tones which really made Ashley’s eye pop – she looked absolutely stunning!!

We stayed and did some touch ups for the girls after the ceremony on the beach at Katathani Resort and took some pictures on the beach at sunset with them afterwards 🙂 Ashley and Mark were so sweet and offered us a sneaky cocktail at their drinks reception, which we couldn’t refuse, as we stayed and had a chat with them and then watched the happy couple, bridesmaids and groomsmen drive off to the reception in state of the art buggy carts!

Thanks for such a wonderful fun day guys and Ashley and Mark we can’t wait to see you back here sooooon!!xxx

Photo Shoot at Sala Resort

[slideshow]

We had such a fantastic photo shoot today at the Sala Resort and Spa up at Mai Khao beach (salaresorts.com/phuket) with Gina (ginasmithphotography.com) and models Jessica and Emma.

We wanted to create an art deco, modern bird-like look for the girls, and the grounds of the Sala were perfect to shoot in.

It was so great to have the opportunity to do some more high fashion creations for both hair and make up. I used my Temptu Pro air brush to create fierce black squares on the girls’ faces on opposing eyes, and then applied these amazing feather fake eyelashes which really made the girls’ eyes stand out.

I created a really tall hair design for the girls, breaking up the top middle sections of the head and looping them over in a curved roll, and smoothing the sides back. I was so happy with finished hair look!

I styled and created the dresses for the girls – both really vibrant colours – turquoise and red lace one shoulder dresses to contrast each other and bring out with the eyelashes we were using. We styled them with black accessories and high black shoes!

The girls looked absolutely fantastic and did an amazing job – Gina took lots of different shots with them, different contrasts and poses and settings and really got some amazing pictures.

For one of the shots, we had the girls pose in the bar with cocktail classes and bright green food colouring and a cherry, to add some more vibrancy to the girls’ look and really give an edge to the shots.

Thanks so much to Gina for being a fantastic photographer, as always, and the girls for being superstars 🙂 xxx
